Past President Carolyn Anderson: 2002 Fall Conference site has been changed to the
Doubletree Hotel in Bellevue, WA. The date has also been changed to November 1-2, 2002. Some of
the advantages to the site change are free parking, reasonable room rates, and a larger vendor area. The
Vendor Luncheon will be held in March or April at the Doubletree so that we can preview the rooms,
exchange information with vendors and show them how their support helps PNWSGNA.
Treasurer Linda Fortney: The January Treasurer’s Report is as follows:
Checking Balance:
$21,020.88
Money Market:
$13,782.30
CD:
$11,865.88
Vendor Coordinatior Debbie DiPietro: Will be checking with vendors as to whether they wanted to
be on a mailing list through the PNWSGNA. Discussed sending registration forms for fall
conference with vendors for distribution at various clinics and endoscopy centers.
Membership Kaylyn Valdez: On December of 2001 we had 300 members, 220 attended the Fall
Conference. There were 10 new applicants for SGNA membership.
Presedent Jill Ragsdale: Discussed ways to contact old members and encourage new members.
Presented were to contact physician groups, obtain list from DDW, and contact hospitals with GI labs. Start to think of fulfilling the criteria for Outstanding Regional. This includes a community service project, such as a billboard advertising colon cancer awareness.
Scholarship Jill Ragsdale for Patti Wilbur: The application and criteria for the Betty Shulenberger
Scholarship will be in the newsletter and on the website.
Website Jennifer Gleason: Members and those interested will now have the ability to read the newsletter online.
Discussed having “Flash Alert Cards” sent to members to remind them to check the
website. The spring newsletter will be out before the Spring Conference on March 30, 2002. The
registration form for the Fall Conference will be on line and you can download it but you can not
register online. The possibility of voting online for future board members was discussed. Vendors
who are active (booth & sponsor) at the Fall Conference will be listed on the website as a vendor
resource. Monthly maintenance website fee is $19.95. There will be a one time installation charge
fpr the vendor list. Educational events whether GI related or not can be included on the website.
The meeting was adjourned at 1200. The next Board Meeting will be held on March 30, 2002 during the lunch break at the Spring Conference at VMMC.
