PNWSGNA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
January 18, 2003
FEDERAL WAY VIRGINIA MASON
Present: Mary Kay Wood, Linda Fortney, Debbie DiPietro, Sheryl Tack, Donna Seaberg, Debbie Tombs, Cathi Dodson, Irena Wright, Jill Ragsdale, and Heather Blyth. Meeting was called to order at 0905. Amendments were made to the board meeting minutes from 12-7-02 and approved.
Amendments:
Registration fee for non-members to our spring and fall conferences has increased from $95.00 to $100.00.
The spring conference will be held at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle on Saturday,March 15, 2003.
For those testing for certification there is a test site in Seattle on May 17, 2003.

Members, you can renew your membership on-line. You will need your ID# from your membership card. Remember to check your region when renewing.
PNWSGNA has donated $500.00 towards honorariums for a GI nursing program in Missoula, Montana on 4-4-03. The program if being organized by Janet Newman, past PNWSGNA Director at Large.
Board members voted to update their Leadership Notebooks. Board members will make addendums and these will be reviewed and approved at the next meeting and added to the Leadership Notebooks. Board members also voted to have our members at large receive hard copies of their job descriptions from the Leadership Notebooks. Jill volunteered to send these copies to the 2003 members at large.
The 30th Annual SGNA Course is in Atlanta, GA May 16-21. Regional night is Friday, May 16 and the theme is the 70’s. Help us think of decorations, ideas, etc. We will be manning our PNWSGNA booth for 3 hrs. that night. Board members bring at least one idea to our next meeting.
Past President Jill Ragsdale: Jill has completed and sent in our application for the outstanding region for 2002. This award will be presented at the annual conference in Atlanta. The winning region will receive $1,000.00.
Many thanks to Jill for the time and work she devoted during her Presidency.

Articles for the Fall Newsletter are due June 30, 2003.
The Fall Conference will be held at the Spokane Doubletree Hotel October 11-12, 2003.
Website Debbie Tombs: To reduce our website costs, update and changes to the website will be bundled and made on a quarterly basis. The region will reimburse the Website Coordinator for anti-virus protection. Sponsors who donate $500.00 to our region will have a link on our website. These links will be available in February 2003. The Board voted to delete old items from the website and not have them archived. We will retain hard copies of all Newsletters and Board Meeting Minutes.
March is Colon Cancer Awareness month. Our region is once again sponsoring billboards.
The meeting was adjourned at 1145. The next meeting will be held over the lunch break at the Spring Potpourri on March 15, 2003. We will vote on the Betty Schulenberg scholarships and winners will be announced at the conference. Board Members remember your Leadership Notebook addendums are due.
