PNWSGNA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
April 17, 2004
Valley Internal Medicine
Renton, WA
Members Present:
Joan Jahraus, Cathi Dodson, Allison McClane, Darlene Buckley, Donna Seaberg, Sheryl Tack, and Jeanne Ronk.
Meeting called to order at 0916.
President Jeanne:
New logo on banner, pins, and t-shirts. The theme of the booth for Regional Night at the National conference
will be “Home on the Range” and the hours will be 2030 to 2230. Western items will be raffled by PNWSGNA.
Scholarship:
Lists were distributed from Joan regarding 2004 applicants, application criteria, and record of former recipients of
the Bette Shulenberger scholarship. Board members discussed criteria of the scholarship and the need for further
discussion at the June 19th board meeting. Creation of new scholarships was suggested, as well as inserting
the scholarship criteria in the Fall conference syllabus. Board members voted to reinstate Jill Ragsdale as a
scholarship recipient and voted to keep 5 years of scholarship records. All prior records will be shredded.
Past President Cathi:
Handed out article entitled “Building Web Site Value”. She will e-mail board members further information
regarding the web site. Discussed e-mailed information she received regarding potential conference sites.
Cathi will send postcards out to members (and all endo suites?) with information about meeting dates and conferences.
President Jeanne:
Will have a hard copy of newsletter printed and sent out to members. Newsletter will include Andy Gilmore
scholarship information. Board meeting dates and locations will be added to web site to encourage members to
attend. Stated that Bill has checked the web site prices and talked to the web designer regarding any mistakes
in billing. Discussion of how pins will be sent to members. Jeanne also received a good response from members
regarding House of Delegates issues. Board members reviewed position statements.
Secretary Darlene:
Minutes of the March 20th minutes presented and approved.
Membership Co-chair Allison:
She will check addresses regarding endo suites to receive PNWSGNA information.
Vendor Coordinators Sheryl and Donna:
Sheryl will update letter to vendors and mail soon. The new PNWSGNA logo will be used. She will
encourage vendors to support educational events. Donna has already e-mailed vendors regarding
the date of the Fall conference. She will send applications and contracts at a later date.
Fall Conference:
Joan has sent bios out to speakers and will work on CEU application. Debbie to talk to additional
speakers at University of Washington. Discussion of need for new registration forms and possible
sponsorship for syllabus. Identification badges will be made for board members, volunteers, and
vendors. Discussion of PNWSGNA no longer sponsoring past presidents to attend the Fall conference.
Jeanne has contacted other regionals and none sponsor past presidents.
Next board meeting is Saturday, June 19, 2004 at Valley Medical Center.
