Board members that are in an elected position have their national and regional dues paid for by the Association.
Treasurer’s report by Linda Fortney showed that are expenses are up. Our money is going to meet our goals of
education and community involvement. We have more people also recertifying.
It was agreed that we would not hold a vendor luncheon next year and this would be decided on an as needed basis every year.
Attendance at the Fall Conference in November at VMMC was 226. 140 attending were members,
86 non-members. 55 attendees were MA’s/Techs/LPN’s. We would like to have role clarification and speakers relating to
this group at our next conference. We also discussed the possibility of having a regional certification exam for MA’s and techs.
38 attendees were certified, we felt this number was in error. As attendees checked in on the day of the conference some were
certified but not registered as such when monies were sent in by their institutions.
There will be a GI Conference in Missoula, MT in March, 2003. Check your website for more information. The PNWSGNA is contributing $500.00 for this conference.
Spring update is scheduled for March 22, 2003 at VMMC in Seattle.
Carolyn informed us that a Wilson Cook Representative had related to her how impressed he was with our Fall Conference.
We feel that we can increase our charge for vendor tables. The rate will increase from $250.00 to $300.00 per table. Each vendor table receives 2 free lunches.
We will be increasing the registration fee for our conferences for non-members from $85.00 to $100.00. There is no early bird registration for attendees.
Cathi made the motion that we destroy the evaluations from the Fall Conference as we now have the tallies, this was approved.
2003 replacements for chair positions will be mentored for a year by the present chair member.
The Colossal Colon Tour will be coming to the Seattle Center July 9-12, 2003. Look for more information on the website.
March is Colon Cancer Awareness month and we are hoping to sponsor billboards once again.
The National Conference is in Atlanta, GA in May. Our Regional Night Theme is “The 70’s”, so be thinking about it!!
The Fall Conference will be held in Spokane on October 11-12, 2003. There is a block of rooms reserved (50) at the downtown
Doubletree Hotel. These rooms will be $95.00/night.
It was decided that new members should receive a welcome and thank you letter from the Membership Chairperson.
The meeting was adjourned at 1105. The next meeting will be held on January 18, 2003 at VMMC in Federal Way.
Format will be our anticipated budget. Remember all our welcome.
